Privacy notice

Clause operates Clause. This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and a hashed password.
• What you create: business profiles, interview answers, documents, filing worksheets, uploaded PDFs and signature records.
• Signing records: signer names, emails, timestamps, IP addresses and device details, kept as the audit trail for each signature.
• Orders: what you bought and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
• Usage: pages viewed, searches and feature use, recorded without third-party trackers or advertising cookies.

What we never collect

We do not ask for or store Social Security numbers or ITINs. EIN applications are completed with the IRS directly, so those numbers go straight to the IRS.

Cookies

We use one session cookie to keep you signed in and a language cookie to remember English or Spanish. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use information

To provide the service, send the emails you ask for (reminders, signing requests, receipts, the digest if you subscribe), secure accounts, and improve the library, for example by finding questions it does not answer yet.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that run the product for us (hosting, email delivery, payments, and e-signature or archive services when enabled), with the people you choose to send documents to, and when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.

Retention

Executed documents and their audit trails are kept for seven years after completion so they remain provable. You can delete your account and its other data from Settings at any time.

Update your details and notification preferences in Settings, unsubscribe from the digest in any issue, or contact us at hello@clausetech.net to access or delete your information.
